I was digging around in the Chrome web store, when i found this cool looking App, as you see in the title i talk about Koding. It’s a social in-browser development tool, but what does that means?
It’s something like social network combined with developing tools - coding editor with a free development server that supports Java, NodeJS, Perl, Python, Ruby, C, C++, Go, and other languages.
Wow, that’s cool, and the whole thing is in the browser! Think of it, you can write code and share it with everyone, posting status updates, following people and joining groups.
The project is founded by Devrim and Sinan Yasar, and as far as i know they received 2 mil dollars funding, so i hope Koding.com doesn’t fail. Also, most of it is going to be free, they will charge only for more cool additions and features. For now the app is invitation only, but you can easily get one either from their Twitter account or by just entering your email on their site.
It’s like Facebook, Twitter and Notepad ++ had a love triangle. Developing is going social, and that’s something new, i am excited to see how things are going to develop in future for this project. I’ll definitely going to use it, so see you there.
