Recently i saw a lot of bad uses of drop shadows, i bet everyone hates sites full of annoying shadows. Of course it depends on the design, but usually you just need a slightly visible drop shadow (nothing more than 1-2px size and distance). In fact if you notice a drop shadow, chances are it’s too heavy. Shadow from every side of an element feels very unnatural, and even more when it’s too heavy.

My tip is to watch over your shadows, sometimes it’s just unnecessary to use them. Here are some examples of what i mean.
